Exodus 2:23-3:15, 4:10-17

this post has fewer resources as I used prayers published by the UMC for World Communion Sunday.  2021_wcs_liturgy.ashx (resourceumc.org)

Prayer of Preparation
God who is I AM: we are here on holy ground.  May the things we hear today be as clear to us as the voice that spoke to Moses from the burning bush so that we may know what you desire from us as we follow you.  Amen.

Intercessory Prayer
God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob: you sent your servant Moses when you saw the misery of your people in Egypt, when you heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, when you were concerned about their suffering.  We ask now that you would see the misery of your people in this time, that you would hear the cries of the people today, and that you would be concerned about the suffering we bring now before you.  Suffering that is caused when people hurt others, suffering that is caused when nations fight against other nations, suffering that is caused when people are ill and when they die, suffering that is caused by our sins and the sins of others.  We know you hear and we know you are aware.  We know that the day will come when you will return and make this world new.  We know that you sent your Son to alleviate this suffering and we give you thanks in His holy name as we pray His prayer.  Our Father… Amen.

Benediction
The Lord has promised to be with us as we go to His children.
Go with the message of Good News that He gives to the world.
The message of Love, Grace, and Unity in Father, Son & Spirit.
Amen.
